Which workplaces should make a risk assessment and who at the workplace should be responsible for carrying it out?

The course reviews what the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations say about risk assessment. The structure of the risk assessment and its philosophy are explained. A simple and targeted method for conducting a risk assessment is taught, called the “six steps in making a risk assessment”. The method is based on the use of checklists and forms from the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health website. The course includes practical exercises in identifying hazards in the work environment. Forms and tools that are useful for risk assessment are reviewed. After completing the course, participants will be able to easily conduct a risk assessment in their workplace. Participants can send questions about their own risk assessment to the course instructors after the course.
